Search Engine Optimization Today. Nothing But The Best Tips!

By Sara Ezan

No matter how much you learn about SEO and how quickly you learn it, you won't always be able to climb up in the rankings quickly. This article will shed some light on various tips you can try out to attempt to speed things up. Remember that SEO is all about time, effort and implementation.

Taking advantage of the opportunities that SEO presents means taking advantage of the various content directories scattered across the web. These great sites are specifically for submitting articles and reaching the public's eyes. Having well written and targeted articles submitted to these sites will mean the right people read your article and more potential sales are created.

For a skin-nourishing treat that is both delicious and healthy, eat pomegranates regularly or take pomegranate supplements. These supplements, which are available in capsule or liquid form, should be taken daily in a dosage of 65 milligrams. Pomegranate enhances the skin's ability to protect itself from the damaging effects of the sun by as much as 25 percent.

You have to fully commit yourself to search engine optimization in order to succeed. Search engine algorithms are constantly changing so tactics that were successful 6 months ago may be redundant today. SEO requires you to create a long-term plan, regularly educate yourself about new changes and make appropriate adjustments to your methods.

Make sure you didn't forget to leave robots.txt set. In many cases, when a site is in development, web designers will use a robots.txt file to prevent search engines from indexing the site at all. Some of these same web designers forget to remove the robots.txt file when the site goes live. If you know what date your site is going live, one tip is a create a cron job that deletes the robots.txt file automatically on the designated date.

Use toils such as Google stats to see which keywords are bringing users to your site. Are there any keywords that aren't getting the hits that you'd expect? These are the keywords that you need to improve. Make sure you've entered them as keywords in your page header, be sure that they are thoroughly used throughout your site, and perhaps use them in the title of one of your website's pages.

Overdoing it with the keywords on your site could get you labeled as a spammer. If you become labeled as a spammer, your site will be overlooked by search engine spiders. They are specifically programmed to ignore the sites that try to stuff as many keywords as possible onto it.

When describing your business or its products or services on your website, you want to keep search engine optimization in mind. However, your first priority should be your potential customers, not the search engines they may use. Place keywords strategically within your descriptions, but don't go overboard. Your text should flow smoothly and be user-friendly and easy to read. There are many ways to help buyers find your website, but repeating the same keyword phrase ten times within one paragraph isn't the optimal way to do it.

Write for your readers, not for the search engine. Search engines are more intelligent these days than ever thought possible. They can actually judge content based on the reactions of a genuine human emotion. If you repeat keywords too many times, a search engine will realize what you are doing and rank your site lower.

Find free tools to help you submit. Several websites offer automated submission tools, that help you submit to up to hundreds of article directory sites in a short amount of time. Search very hard to find the free tools that do this. Most sites charge a fee for this task, but if you are lucky you will find those that do not.

Remember that keywords or phrases on each of your pages should total to around 3 to 5 percent of the total text of the pages. Your keywords should be spread out across multiple pages, not just focusing only on the homepage, as all of your pages carry an importance. Your page can have more entry points if it has more ranks.

If you choose to combine two or more pages that have similar content, you must first determine whether or not other pages have linked to either page's address. You should keep the page that has the highest quality of inbound links and eliminate the other page(s). This ensures that your site will continue to accommodate visitors who are linked to your site.

Have your pages as close to the root directory as possible. The deeper into the sub directories a page is place the less likely the search engine is to rank it highly. The reasoning is that items that are directly off of a root directory as generally considered more important the sites that are deeper within.

By reading through the article you will have some great ideas on improving your website. Feel free to make use of this advice and get your webpage up to the ranking it really deserves.
